About: John Eibner holds a PhD in History from the University of London. He has directed field-based research and human rights advocacy campaigns on behalf of endangered religious communities in Sudan, the Caucasus and the broader Middle East for over 35 years. He is perhaps best known for having traveled deep into war-torn Sudan over 100 times since 1995 to document the slave trade there. He has served as CSI’s representative at the United Nations in Geneva and has briefed policymakers at the White House, State Department and U.K. Foreign Office.

About: Joel Veldkamp has worked with Christian Solidarity International since 2011. He holds an MA in Middle East Studies from the University of Chicago, and a PhD in history from the Geneva Graduate Institute. He currently represents CSI at the United Nations in Geneva. He has also addressed meetings on Capitol Hill, at the Bundestag in Germany, the House of Lords in the UK, and at the European Parliament. He has a working knowledge of French, German, Arabic, and Armenian.
