Central America

In the slums as well as in remote areas of Central America, children and young people suffer as a result of widespread poverty and violence. CSI works with local partners to make a difference.

(For security reasons, we do not name all of these countries in this region where we are active.)

CSI priorities:

Provision of a daily lunch and care for children in slums
Distribution of food and medicines to people in need
Provision of school materials and school uniforms
Working to end domestic violence
Boarding schools for girls providing psychological care

CSI president: anti-Christian violence will increase in Europe

Bishop Rolando Álvarez of Matagalpa, a prominent critic of the Nicaraguan government, has been released from prison after 500 days and expelled from the country along with 18 other jailed churchmen.
